According to a new study done in University of Alabama, sitting by a fireplace isn't just relaxing, it also reduces your blood pressure!
Study author Christopher Dana Lynn, Ph.D. says that research took place in daylight hours so it might even underestimate effect of relaxing by a fireside at night.
So why humans find fire relaxing? Lynn suggests that it goes back to cavemen times when fire was essential for warmth, shelter and safety.
